The main function of the optical module is to provide opto-electro-optical conversion capability. It consists of two parts: the transmitting part and the receiving part. The transmitting part converts the electrical signal into an optical signal, and the receiving part converts the optical telecommunication into an electrical signal.
The transmitting part is: inputting a certain bit rate of electric signal and driving the semiconductor laser (LD) or light emitting diode (LED) to emit a corresponding rate of modulated optical signal after being processed by an internal driver chip, and an internal optical power automatic control circuit is provided therein. The output optical signal power remains stable.
The receiving part is: After a certain code rate of the optical signal input module is converted into an electrical signal by the light detecting diode. After the preamplifier, the corresponding rate of the electrical signal is output.
